I was really mature.

So I was going through some boxes, today, and came across an old journal from when I was 9-10. I will definitely be posting more entries from it, but here is one of my favorites, so far:

March 10, 1993:
Heather Longhurst and I got in a fight today. We were in music, and I thought that I knew all of the words to the song, but I didn't. So Heather doesn't like me anymore. I am going to teach her a lesson. I am going to be mad at her to show her how it feels to have your second best friend abandon you.

I sure showed her.

Just because

Every once in a while I stop and think how freaking lucky I am. I have the best family and friends in the world. Seriously.

So to my friends who I haven't seen in years, but I have so many fond memories of,

...to my friends I've only met a few times, or those who I've only met through cyber-space or through blog stalking,

...to my friends I've recently met, and hopefully will continue to know,

...to my friends who I've known forEVER,

...to my family, individually as well as collectively, who constantly remind me where my insanity comes from,

...also to my family, who love(s) me unconditionally,

...to those of you who make me laugh or smile,

...and to all of you who have been there for me in one way or another,

thank you.

I appreciate your friendship and love more than you know.

And I promise that my next post won't be this cheesy.

My man

Happy birthday to a man who...

...is as strong as an ox

...will shoot you if you try to hurt his wife

...is cooler than James Dean

...feeds hungry fish

...isn't afraid to be a little "different"...

...can hypnotize an entire audience with his mad bass skills

...looks incredible in a kilt
...is in touch with his feminine side

...is MUCH hotter than that last guy I posted about. AND... he's mine, all mine.

Happy birthday, Justin. I love you!

Appreciation

Sometimes the media focuses primarily on the ugliness in the world, which can bring us down and make us feel melancholy.

So let us all just take a moment to appreciate some of the beauty we can find, if we only stop to look.

Don't you feel better? I know I do.

A little somethin somethin

As per usual, I have a lot of updating to do, which I don't really have time for. So for now, I will leave you with a little something.

Kennedy wanted her face painted for the 4th of July. She requested a patriotic Ariel.

And then she posed for the camera and stuck that hip out. You go, girl. She then wanted to paint my arm with flowers and a rainbow. Beautiful.
We spent a little time shopping and climbing on random metal vegetables.
Because who wouldn't want to sit on a giant turnip*?
*I have since found out that they are actually sugar beets... since they're in Sugarhouse... makes sense, right?
