Interpret please?

I have strange dreams (I think it may be hereditary). Some are fun, some are scary, and some are downright bizarre.

Last night, during part of my lengthy and nonsensical dream, I had recently landed a new job working for a company whose sole purpose was apparently to create art, at our clients' requests, for commercial and/or personal use.

Since I was brand new and inexperienced, they gave me an easy task. They wanted me to use "Bendaroos" (if you have kids, I'm sure you've seen the commercials for them) to create a beautiful piece of art for our client.

The picture I was supposed to create, using Bendaroos, looked something like this:

What the hell is THAT supposed to mean?

Well, folks

It really doesn't get much cuter than this.

Ivy: "I can't help it. We're just the cutest things ever."

Kaia: "Yep. Ditto what she said."

New look

Kennedy decided she wanted her hair cut. So her wonderful aunt Misty worked her magic and chopped off 7 inches of beautiful golden locks.

And of course added a pink and a blue extension.

My little baby is growin' up. *sniff* *sniff*

Oh- and here's a Kennedyism for you.

The other day we were watching a movie, and a commercial came on. Kennedy folded her hands together and said "Heavenly Father- will you please get rid of this COMMERCIAL!?!"

And he did, within about 30 seconds.

Yum.

Just when I was starting to get depressed that we still have another grueling two months (or so) of winter, I realized that it's almost that time, again.

Nomnomnomnom.

A nice view

Remember how in my last post I said I loved "blue skies"?

Here is a picture, courtesy of my iPhone, of said "blue skies" this morning, as I was on my way to work.
What's that, you say? Pollution?? Oh don't worry- that grey cloud looming over the city is totally normal (which is a relief, since my building is smack dab in the middle of it).

And then while at work, I look out the window and once again behold the same beautiful blue skies..
You're wondering about that dark grey hovering mass? Psh. It's totally fine.

And finally, a view from another window of the other side of the city. Now, that could either be fog or some wicked pollution, but whatever it is, at least it looks cool... and I'm sure it's completely healthy to inhale.

P.S. If I start hallucinating, vomiting, or having seizures, I think we can safely blame it on that ominous sea of exhaust fumes suspended above the city.

Things I love

Sometimes I complain. But just because I don't like working 40+ hours a week and I don't like this stupid unhealthy air I'm having to breathe and I can't seem to get rid of those last 10 pounds and I'm in major need of a vacation and I have to freeze in my office all day every day, it doesn't mean I can't focus on the positive. And to prove to you that I CAN do this, here is a list of just a few of the things I love.

  • Puppies
  • Sleep
  • Freshly laundered sheets
  • Good TV shows (Glee, Heroes, Lost, Scrubs....)
  • A good movie
  • Eating movie popcorn
  • The movie theatre seats that recline
  • Scrabble
  • Playing with Kennedy
  • Judge brownies
  • New shoes/clothes/purse
  • A really good sale
  • When Justin makes french toast for me
  • Seeing Kennedy beat me in Wii boxing
  • Watching Kennedy beat Justin in Wii boxing
  • Seeing Kennedy beat us both in Mario Kart
  • Girls nights out
  • Laughing so hard I nearly pee my pants
  • Old pictures
  • Kennedy's hugs and kisses
  • Springtime
  • Clean air
  • Blue skies and sunshine
  • The sound and smell of the ocean
  • The smell of Hawaii
  • Blog-stalking
  • Getting my hair done
  • Kitties
  • Fragrant flowers
  • Babies giggling
  • Cuddling

What do you love?

Not hazardous

For a minute there I thought I might have been inhaling "hazardous" air.
But luckily it's just "unhealthy."
Whew.

Holiday happenings

I hope that each of you had a splendid Christmas. I know I did. Would you like to know why? Well then, by all means, read on.

Christmas Eve was spent with Justin's family. (Well, first it was with my dad, but I didn't get pictures of that because I'm lame. But it was fun nonetheless.)

The Carrell family Christmas:

We ate pizza, drank wassail (mmmmmm), and opened presents.

Kennedy was euphoric about her new Barbie car.

So was Justin.

Harley thoroughly enjoyed her presents, as well. Via mastication.

Kennedy also received a magnificent Barbie dress-up box. She was so excited that she completely ignored the outstretched hand which was eagerly awaiting a "five".

And after blinking my eyes for only a second, the girls had transformed into Barbie-princess-fairies with magic wands who turn unsuspecting kin into frogs, snakes and other creatures. 'Twas quite the adventure.

And here are the women and children (minus myself), squished on a couch. The men were too cool and manly to be in a picture:

After a long and exciting evening with the Carrell family, we went home so that Santa could bring us some stuff.

Morning came, and so had Mr. Kringle.

Kennedy awoke to find some presents under the tree and couldn't wait to rip them open to see if Santa had granted her wish and brought her some Smencils and Sword and the Stone.

Oh look, he did. Amazing.

And since he's a pretty cool cat, he gave us more stuff.

I know it's not nearly as cool as Smencils, but I guess it will do.

We then went over to spend the rest of Christmas day with my brother and his family, AND my mother, who had been brought there by Santa. Christmas dinner was fabulous, since my sister in law cooked and she is like Martha Stewart, except without all the craziness.

And to sum it up, the rest of the year was fun. We got much-needed carpet installed downstairs, hung out with mi madre, had a little New Year's get-together with some friends, and played way too much Wii.

Now it's back to work. Yay....
