Long overdue.

So I was re-sizing some pictures to put on my blog, thinking they were taken, oh... maybe a week or two ago... Wrong. The date on them is July 25th. JULY. And we're nearing September. I swear, we missed a few weeks somewhere in there.

Anyway, apparently on July 25th, we went on up to Silver Lake with our friend and his son to fish a little bit. And I took some pictures.

And saw... a DUCK! (name that movie....)

and pretty scenery.

And tried to catch fish.

But unfortunately only the sea weed was biting.

So the kids ate snacks. And Kennedy pulled her normal Kennedyfaces.

And I became good friends with this cute ground squirrel. I offered him a free photo shoot. He was very flattered and posed willingly.

And after fighting for about an hour over who got to walk in front and be "the leader", the kids finally decided that they could be equals.

At least for 5 minutes.

Oh.
And P.S.
Justin's brother, Travis, and his wife (get this- her name is Ashley Carrell) had their darling baby today! Her name is Piper Carrell. (I can only hope she'll be as cute as my friend's little girl, who is also named Piper.)

Welcome to the world, Piper. You're surrounded by all of us crazies. But at least we love you!

This and that

I have a spare moment. But just a moment. And my blogger's guilt is creeping up on me enough to use that spare moment to write a small post about stuff. Random stuff. Because that's how my brain works.

- Summer is almost over. Boo.

- Kennedy is starting kindergarten next week. Yay!!

- Kennedy is starting kindergarten next week. Waaahhhhh!

- This picture makes me laugh.

- Kennedy is a total hypochondriac and is constantly worrying about getting hurt/sick/losing teeth/etc.

- I love camping. I especially love how everything smells like campfire smoke when you get home... mmmm

- I just got an Iphone. So now I feel cool.

- We have 2 pet frogs. Kennedy named them Ivy and Kaia.

- Exercising makes me tired. Which is why I stopped doing it.

- I would like a complete wardrobe makeover.

- I would also like to win the lottery.

- I am also thinking I would like a boob job, since an online "what is your bra size" calculator's results came back as "If these measurements are correct, you do not require a bra."

Up yours, calculator.

Why

This is why I have not been blogging as frequently as I would like:

Work is the devil in disguise.

You're jealous. Admit it.

zoo-a-licious

By posting this entry about the zoo, I am skipping a bunch of other pretty cool stuff. I may or may not get to it eventually. Because that's how I roll. But this entry deserves to be posted because of some of its cuteness. You will see why.

First, cuteness number one: a cute picture of little miss Kennedy.

We made our way in to see the pregnant elephant, but since she's hormonal and doesn't want to be bothered, she's in hiding until the baby elephant is born. I don't blame her. But this big guy felt bad about the whole situation, so he decided to pose for us while we snapped some photos.

Then I took a picture of the happy couple, soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Roberts (tomorrow!!).

Apparently having an animal baby is the thing to do, right now. There were quite a few of them at the zoo. (Hence the cuteness factor of this post.) And I don't know about you, but I don't know many things that are cuter than a baby giraffe.

Except maybe a baby snow leopard. (I wanted to steal him. But then I remembered that it's a felony.)

Ok, and a baby Kaia comes REALLY close.

And I'm all about equal treatment, so I can't post a pic of one baby without posting one of the other.

Here's a pic of all of us who went (excluding Josh).
Left to right: Ashley, Ashlee, Ashlee and Tara. I think we might start calling her Ashlee, just for fun.
(Oh- and cute little Bella decided to make an appearance in the picture, as well.)

Way too much cuteness for one post, I know. But you guys are tough - you can handle it.
